Originally released in 2016, the album is a testament to the unique collaboration between these three phenomenal artists, celebrated for their powerful voices and distinct songwriting styles.

Pitchfork described them as 'the strongest voices in their field - lang the full-voiced seductress, Case the hurricane, and Veirs the wry storyteller.' All 14 songs were written collaboratively, with lead vocals shared equally, often within the same track. The music is rich with stunning harmonies and spellbinding rhythms, exploring a range of emotions and themes.

NPR praised the album's 'generosity of spirit,' calling it 'a worthy extension of three tremendous catalogs, in which three great singer-songwriters sound enhanced and invigorated by the challenge of living up to each other's legacies.' The artists spent over two and a half years crafting the album in Portland, Oregon, working organically without a rigid plan, allowing the music to reveal itself. The album was produced by Tucker Martine at his Portland studio in November 2015.
