This live-action, big-budget family blockbuster brings Gerry Anderson's cult classic 1960s puppet sci-fi TV series to the big screen. Directed by Jonathan Frakes, the film follows the intergalactic adventures of the Tracy family, headed by former astronaut Jeff Tracy (Bill Paxton), who lives with his five sons on the top-secret Tracy Island, which also houses the headquarters of the top-secret International Rescue organization.
When villainous criminal 'The Hood' (Ben Kingsley) orchestrates an elaborate plan to remove Jeff and his four eldest sons temporarily from home, so that he can invade the island and attempt to steal some of the organization's most valuable equipment, it is left to Jeff's youngest son Alan (Brady Corbet) to save the day...

The youngest boy (Brady Corbet) hasn't yet joined the team and resents every moment he's not in uniform---but he gets his chance when a malevolent villain called the Hood (Ben Kingsley, slumming a bit from Gandhi and Sexy Beast) traps the rest of the family on a crippled space station and turns the Thunderbird vehicles to his evil purposes.

Jeff Tracy (Bill Paxton) heads up the team and employs his sons to help him out.
Teenager Alan Tracy (Brady Corbet) is a little too young to join and is constantly frustrated by his lack of opportunity to join the brothers on their missions. But when the evil villain known as The Hood (Ben Kingsley) traps the International Rescue team in outer space, it seems Alan's time has come. The Hood steals one of the many spacecraft designed by International Rescue and executes an outlandish scheme to rob the Bank of England.
Alan and his pal Fermat (Soren Fulton) attempt the double-whammy of rescuing the trapped family and stopping The Hood, by drawing on help from the sultry detective Lady Penelope (Sophia Myles), her butler Parker (Ron Cook), and a few gadgets and vehicles courtesy of International Rescue. With comic references to the original show scattered liberally throughout the movie and a sense of fun and adventure, this is a film that should appeal to both old and new fans of these popular crime-fighting characters.

Usually an expensive addition to the Armada game, this was a price not to be missed.

Beautiful addition to the Wizkids dragons range.
So far this is the third adult-sized dragon in my D&D miniature collection, joining the red dragon and blue shadow dragon, in addition to the two ancients Arveiaturace and Balagos. While Balagos still reigns supreme, the lunar dragon is my favourite of the three adult dragons.
The pose is magnificent, with the wings spread wide as if either taking flight or attempting to instil fear into a mortal foe. Unlike a number of the larger dragon minis, this one does not need the tail or wings attaching separately, so you get a nice smooth finish to the mini without any join lines.
The paint job is understated but beautiful. The majority of the dragon is white/pale grey, but with the underside of the wings given a light dusting of a pinkish brown.
Overall, Wizkids have excelled themselves with this one, and I'd recommend it to anyone running a Spelljammer campaign, or just looking for a new imposing D&D adversary (or ally!) in their game.
