A musical celebration of the life of Terry Wogan, much loved presenter, broadcaster and musical supporter. Born in Ireland in 1938 Terry Wogan or Sir Terry as he was fondly known spent most of his illustrious career at the BBC. His 'Wake Up To Wogan' breakfast show on Radio 2 had 8 million listeners and was the most listened to radio show in the whole of Europe. The term “National treasure” could have been created specifically for Terry Wogan. Loved by all, his easy charm made him the perfect voice to wake up to and get you to work. It also made him a firm favorite with other celebrities with his Wogan chat show always securing the biggest and most memorial guests. In addition to 'Wake Up To Wogan' and 'Wogan', Sir Terry also presented 'Blankety Blank' and 'Come Dancing'. Two shows that Terry is particularly fondly remembered for were 'The Eurovision Song Contest' and of course 'Children In Need' who this album is released in association with. Terry left us far too early when he passed away at home in Taplow on January 31st of this year at the age of 77. Although no longer on the airwaves Sir Terry's love and contribution to music will live on. This album “A Celebration of Music” is just that, it’s a collection of tracks loved and played by Sir Terry and including Eva Cassidy, Katie Melua , Fleetwood Mac, Dolly Parton, Take That and of course Terrys own hit single The Floral Dance . The album will also include a number of tracks recorded especially for Terry's Weekend Wogan Sunday morning show.

I was able to purchase a sealed copy of this long deleted rare edition of album Avonmore via Yachew who shipped it promptly. Their price was the best online.
