Description

Up's The New Down is Pete Fij's debut solo album on CD, featuring 10 songs. It’s for listeners drawn to melodic indie with fuzzed-up guitars, dream-pop and touches of pop and electronica.

Known for his work with Adorable, Polak and Pete Fij / Terry Bickers, Fij brings his rich baritone and wry lyrical touch to an album that moves from introspection towards a brighter celebration of life and love. Its influences range from The Cure, The Jesus and Mary Chain and Pixies to LCD Soundsystem, DIIV and Viagra Boys.

“Wake Up Honey” is a single from the album. Across the record, electric guitars meet programmed synths in a sound that embraces Fij’s dream-pop past while taking a new direction.
