Description
The inspiring story of Dr Ludwig Guttman, the man who founded the Paralympics. The Best of Men charts one remarkable doctor's transformation of care for paraplegics. Arriving at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in 1944, Dr. Guttmann revolutionizes treatment for paralyzed soldiers, who were previously written off and facing death from neglect. Defying the prevailing belief that paralysis is a terminal condition, he discards outdated care methods and introduces sport as a vital part of rehabilitation. This heartwarming true story follows Guttmann's journey in helping patients regain physical strength and self-respect, ultimately laying the foundation for the Paralympic Games.
