Description
Nighthawks perform live at the Leverkusen Jazz Days on 12 November 2023 in this concert recording. It captures the German nu-jazz band’s atmospheric sound, shaped by jazz, dancefloor and chill-out influences.
Featuring trumpeter Rainer Winterschladen, bassist Dal Martino, guitarist Jorg Lenhardt, keyboardist Jurgen Dahmen and drummer Thomas Alkier, the performance blends cool grooves with laid-back, sometimes wistful arrangements and a dash of progressive rock. Nighthawks’ debut studio album, Metro Bar, reached No. 3 on the German jazz charts, and the band received the German Jazz Award in Gold in 2005, 2011 and 2013.
