Everyone Says Hi - Funny Cos It's True [Audio CD]

Everyone Says Hi returns with their second album, Funny Cos It's True, delivering eleven tracks of intoxicating indie-pop. This hook-heavy, groove-forward alt record expands on the momentum of their acclaimed self-titled debut from 2024, firmly stepping into their distinct sound with a hazy retro feel that sounds distinctly new.

Album Highlights and Style

The album is characterized by candid, personal, and lived-in songs delivered with sharp humour and a big-chorus instinct. Sonically, the band occupies a lustrous retro-futurist lane, blending classic textures and warm psych-pop sheen reminiscent of Steely Dan, R.E.M., and Arcade Fire, alongside modern alt-rock glows from acts like The War On Drugs and Tame Impala, always keeping melody front and centre. Lyrically, the album resonates emotionally, featuring songs written from the perspective of a parent to a young daughter, and as a son reflecting on the death of his father from Alzheimer's.
