Butthole Surfers - After The Astronaut

Austin odd rockers Butthole Surfers, known for the 90s Modern Rock chart topper 'Pepper', deliver their long-awaited 1998 follow-up, After The Astronaut. This release captures the band leaning further into experiments with electronics, hip-hop, acid grooves, and the otherwise unusual, resulting in a dizzying orbital trip that expands the possibilities within rock music.

Originally shelved due to disputes between the band and Capitol Records, this material developed a mythic status before being realized a quarter century later. Guitarist/producer Paul Leary has newly mixed After The Astronaut, correcting the record on the band's late 90s activity with a bold, idiosyncratic evolution of their sun-fried psychedelia.

• Captures the Butthole Surfers' sound following their 90s commercial success.
• Features experiments with electronics, hip-hop, and acid grooves.
• Newly mixed by guitarist/producer Paul Leary.
• Represents the vision for the album originally intended for release in 1998.

This audioCD release presents the full vision of After The Astronaut, featuring tracks such as 'The Weird Revolution', 'Jet Fighter', and 'Mexico'.
