It's been 30 years since Genevieve Holdsworth mother, Barbara started making chocolates from a small unit here in their home town of Bakewell. Driven by a passion for chocolate and the firm belief that a market existed for premium handmade chocolates, she began to blend the best possible ingredients using local produce and other inspirational flavours from around the world to realise her dream.

Blended with the most sublime truffle ganache, praline or cream filling. Creating the most incredible flavours with a texture that simply delights yours taste buds.
Enrobed in the finest quality premium couverture and hand finished. If you have ever tried making chocolate coated truffles you'll no doubt understand how difficult it can be, at Holdsworth this has one element of being master chocolatiers.
Great care is taken during the making of each chocolate, therefore it is very important to continue this with process through the packing stage all completed by hand into a range of beautifully designed boxes that make lovely gifts.
We take great care to source only the best ingredients for our chocolates, locally and from around the world, as quality has to come first in all aspects of what we offer to our customers and it’s why we believe our truffles, creams and pralines have such amazing flavour profiles.
At the same time we believe that it is vital to support a sustainable global chocolate industry, by acting with a social conscience around our commercial decisions wherever possible, especially with global demand for chocolate continuing to grow year on year.
Belcolade, are our preferred chocolate processor and together, we carefully source cocoa beans from three continents: South and Central America, Africa and Asia. The majority of this high grade cocoa is grown by small subsistence farmers in some of the poorest countries in the world.
There are many benefits to investing in these specialist high grade couvertures, not least of which are the social ones. Most importantly it means the farmers can charge a premium for it, which in turn provides them a better living and helps contribute to a more sustainable industry.
