The Jayhawks - Sanctuary Park [CD]

For over forty years, The Jayhawks have crafted music that captures the enduring spirit and soul of classic American songwriting. Emerging from the post-punk scene of Minneapolis alongside bands like The Replacements and Hüsker Dü, The Jayhawks pioneered the Americana movement, introducing rock audiences to their distinctive blend of country, folk, soul, Britpop, and rock 'n' roll.

This upcoming album, Sanctuary Park, marks another chapter in their legacy, created in collaboration with legendary producer Bob Ezrin (known for work with Pink Floyd, Peter Gabriel, and Lou Reed). The band, featuring core members Gary Louris, Marc Perlman, Karen Grotberg, and Tim O'Reagan, continues to record and tour worldwide, building upon a foundation of over 12 studio albums and three live albums.

The Jayhawks' sound is deeply rooted in American traditions, drawing parallels to influential acts like The Band and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Their extensive touring history includes major festivals such as Farm Aid and Primavera Sound, and they have served as backup for acclaimed artists including Johnny Cash and Roger McGuinn.
