Description

Vashti Bunyan’s legendary 1970 debut album, presented on CD. Produced by Joe Boyd for Witchseason Productions, it features contributions from Fairport Convention’s Simon Nicol and Dave Swarbrick, and The Incredible String Band’s Robin Williamson.

The songs mostly follow Bunyan and her lover’s journey by horse and cart to the Hebrides, where they hoped to join Donovan’s artistic community, only to find it had left by the time they arrived.

The story behind the journey was told in Kieran Evans’ 2008 film Vashti Bunyan: From Here To Before.
