Weezer - Blue Album [VINYL]

Originally released in 1994, Weezer's self-titled debut—commonly known as the Blue Album—redefined power-pop with its quirky, nerdy aesthetic and infectious hooks. Influenced by 1950s pop culture, comic books, Dungeons & Dragons, and The Bible, the album stood out in the grunge-dominated era. Produced by Ric Ocasek of The Cars, it features iconic tracks like "Buddy Holly" and "Undone – The Sweater Song," the latter gaining traction through local radio play and a breakout music video directed by Spike Jonze, featuring the band performing alongside a pack of dogs. The innovative video for "Buddy Holly," also directed by Jonze, won four MTV Video Music Awards and helped propel the album to mainstream success. Despite a quiet launch, the album spent 78 weeks on the Billboard 200, peaking at No. 16, and has since been certified triple platinum with over 3.7 million copies sold in the U.S. alone. Revered for its blend of deadpan humor, emotional vulnerability, and sharp songwriting, the Blue Album has grown in stature over the decades and is now considered a foundational influence on emo and alternative rock.
