The Golden Door by Phil Lanzon

Experience the evocative fusion of romance, heartbreak, comedy, and intrigue with The Golden Door, an original musical theatre concept by Brian Degas and Phil Lanzon (Uriah Heep). This CD presents a blend of contemporary rock and anthemic ballads, featuring orchestration by John Cameron and performances by West End stars Kerry Ellis and Ben Forster. Set against the backdrop of Ellis Island in 1917, the story captures the joy and sorrow of immigrants fleeing World War I, offering a 24-hour snapshot of life, challenges, and the decisions that shaped a 'new America'.

This concept recording provides an initial introduction to the world, characters, and music of the musical theatre concept, following a successful London Showcase performance in October 2024.
