Description

Home brings composer Eric Whitacre together with vocal ensemble VOCES8 for a choral album on 2LP vinyl. It features the world premiere recording of ‘All Seems Beautiful to Me’ and a new recording of Whitacre’s cantata The Sacred Veil.

The album also includes ‘The Seal Lullaby’, ‘Sing Gently’ and ‘Go, Lovely Rose’, Whitacre’s first composition. ‘Sing Gently’ was written for his Virtual Choir, which brought together more than 17,500 singers from 124 countries.

The Sacred Veil is a twelve-movement cantata for choir, cello and piano, with text by Charles Anthony Silvestri. It follows the story of Silvestri’s wife Julie, from their relationship and the birth of their children through her illness.
