Ceremony - Tell Me Your Dream [CD]

Ceremony - Tell Me Your Dream [Import CD]

California-born hardcore outfit Ceremony delivers their seventh album, Tell Me Your Dream, capturing the quintet at its most expressive and timely. This release pushes the group's punk-forged intensity to the fore, reflecting the mass uncertainty of the current era. Ceremony aims to encourage listeners to engage with political and social realities, moving beyond apathy.

Key Album Focus

Tell Me Your Dream reunites Ceremony (Ross Farrar, Anthony Anzaldo, Andy Nelson, Justin Davis, and Jake Casarotti) with producer John Reis for ten songs spanning searing breadth. The sound ranges from bristling hardcore to moody post-punk, drawing fundamental inspiration from anarcho-punk troupes like Discharge and Crass. The band confronts contemporary issues directly, exemplified by the track 'Madness,' which indicts war's obscenity.

Band Lineup & Influences

The album represents a culmination of Ceremony's 21 years together, demonstrating their ability to make a return-to-form sound like evolution. The band members explicitly address the need for punk voices to speak out on current events, striving to create material that is neither light nor empty.
