Grateful Dead - Ridin' Down, Oct 31, 1971

Experience a legendary performance from the Grateful Dead with this remastered single-disc audio CD, capturing their post-Halloween show at the Ohio Theater on October 31, 1971. This limited edition release features the first set plus an encore from a night described as a "happy site of a post-Halloween party" filled with "musical tricks and treats." The concert, which included the New Riders of the Purple Sage, saw attendees in costume and induced dancing throughout the venue, highlighting the Grateful Dead's dynamic and evolving style.

This aggregation, established and polished over seven years by the time of this recording, featured Jerry Garcia, Bill Kreutzmann, Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, and Keith Godchaux (filling in for Pigpen). The performance showcased much new material, with "Jack's Straw" being particularly effective, and Godchaux's keyboard work notably standing out, especially during "Back to Tennessee." This release is a testament to the Grateful Dead's ability to evolve within their unique style.
