Recorded in mid-'70s Manhattan, the sessions featured Dr. Otto Gomez and fellow New York musicians (Tony Dixon, Norman Drayton, Tony Dupree, Al Jones, and Fred Nanton) brought in by songwriter and producer Billy Nichols. Paid as session musicians, they were unaware when Lloyd Price struck a deal with Nichols to press and release the album in 1976 on TSG Records—later documented as one of the US tax scam labels of the '70s. These releases were never intended for commercial success, often produced in extremely limited numbers, causing them to fall into obscurity and become mythical among DJs and collectors. This reissue finally gives the talents of Dr. Otto Gomez and friends the recognition they deserved.
