The Anchoress - As We Once Were [2LP Vinyl]

The Anchoress - As We Once Were

The Anchoress (aka Catherine Anne Davies), the twice Welsh Music Prize nominated artist and producer, returns with As We Once Were, her third studio album. This highly anticipated release follows the UK Top 40 success of The Art Of Losing and presents an epic 14-track widescreen exploration of time and transformation, created using vintage analogue synthesisers from Pete Townshend's collection.

Key Album Highlights

• Features an all-star cast of guest vocalists, including Mercury Music Prize nominees Hannah Peel and Welsh-Cornish musician Gwenno.
• Includes a collaboration with James Dean Bradfield (Manic Street Preachers) on vocals and electric guitar for the track 'Throw Over Your Man', inspired by the letters between Virginia Woolf and Vita Sackville West.
• Features a duet with newcomer Eaves Wilder (Secretly Canadian) on the song 'Damsels'.
• The album was created at Black Lodge Studios by the three-times Music Producers Guild nominated Davies.
• Thematically explores questions about the past, loss, new beginnings (set against the backdrop of the birth of her first child), and the discovery of her grandmother's voice on an old cassette tape.
